This time, I came to Beijing to connect with the Zhongguancun project. After comparing more than ten hotels along the North Third Ring Road, I finally decided on Grand Skylight Hotel Royal Beijing. Originally, I only placed an order for its core location and mature supporting facilities. After staying for three consecutive days, it completely solved the pain points of "morning rush hour congestion and long connection time" that I used to experience during business trips in Beijing, and became the most worry free business destination for me recently.
I landed at Daxing Airport and took the Daxing Airport Line to transfer to the subway. It took less than an hour to get directly to the hotel, and it took me 5 minutes to walk from the subway entrance to the hotel, without having to take detours in the rush hour traffic. The doorman took my suitcase containing the project prototype and delivered it all the way to the lobby. The front desk check-in only took 2 minutes, and the staff noticed the docking schedule on my phone. They specially arranged a room on the inner side of the high-rise building for me, saying that it would be far away from the main road and not disturbed by traffic. They also handed me a printed traffic avoidance route map, indicating two alternative routes to Zhongguancun and Guomao during the morning rush hour. They even wrote clearly which time slot to take a taxi and not queue up.
The layout of the room is completely tailored for business guests: the 40 square meter space has no redundant decorations, and the independent office area by the window has a spacious desktop that can accommodate three project proposals simultaneously. The network cable interfaces and fast charging sockets are evenly arranged along the edge of the desk, and computers, demonstrators, and portable printers can be charged at the same time without pulling wires to find sockets. The desk lamp supports three levels of brightness adjustment. When staying up late to change PPT, switch to warm light mode, and you won't feel sore eyes even in the early morning. The most thoughtful thing is that there is a mini ironing machine with a drying function hidden in the wardrobe. If a customer wears a wrinkled suit and hangs it in for more than ten minutes, it will be flat and straight, without the need to seek emergency help from a dry cleaning shop.
The hotel's supporting facilities fully cover the needs of business scenarios: the business center on the second floor is open 24 hours a day. I had to print and bind 20 bidding documents at 1am, and they were processed in less than 10 minutes. I picked them up directly the next morning without any delay in docking. The breakfast hall will open at 6:30, so there is no need to rush to eat bread. After the old Beijing Zhajiangmian and hot soybean milk deep-fried dough sticks are finished, we can go out for the morning meeting. The whole people are full of energy. The executive lounge is quiet and not noisy, so there is no need to go out to find a coffee shop to discuss cooperation with customers. You can chat for one or two hours by ordering two cups of tea, and the privacy and environment are both dignified enough.
What surprised me the most was the commuting efficiency. During the morning rush hour, I took the alternative route recommended by the hotel and arrived directly at Zhongguancun in 20 minutes without encountering the expected traffic jam. A 10 minute walk from the surrounding area is a mature commercial district. After finishing work in the evening, I would like to schedule a team dinner. From authentic old Beijing copper pots to local specialty dishes, everything is available without having to travel long distances to find restaurants.
I used to think that most of the old hotels on the North Third Ring Road had rigid procedures, and it was inevitable to settle in. For this business trip to Beijing, I specifically chose the Grand Skylight Hotel Royal Beijing located next to the North Third Ring Road. Originally, I only thought about its central location and convenience wherever I went. After staying for three days, every experience from entering to checking out exceeded my expectations, completely breaking my stereotype of old-fashioned business hotels.
I came out of the subway station with my suitcase in the evening and walked for five minutes to reach the hotel entrance. The doorman came up from afar and picked up the suitcase, leading me all the way into the lobby. The warm yellow light is wrapped in a faint fragrance, without the pungent decoration smell of a new hotel, replaced by a settled and steady texture. The check-in process at the front desk was very fast. The staff noticed that I was from out of town and took the initiative to hand me a bottle of warm mineral water. They also gave me a handwritten guide to the surrounding area, indicating the old and famous restaurants nearby that do not require queuing. The light brown solid wood furniture is matched with soft warm light. The french window beside the window is facing the urban street scene of Beijing, and a little outline of CBD can be seen in the distance. What impressed me the most was the bedding. The softness and hardness of the mattress were just enough to support my waist. I walked tens of thousands of steps for two consecutive days, and as soon as I lay down on the bed, the soreness and bloating gradually dissipated. Even someone like me who knows beds all year round slept soundly for three days.
The thoughtfulness in the details can be seen everywhere: the desktop of the office area by the window is spacious enough to spread out three project materials at the same time, the fast charging interface is evenly arranged along the edge of the desk, and computers, presenters, and mobile phones can be charged at the same time without pulling wires and searching for sockets everywhere. There is an ironing machine hidden in the wardrobe, which can iron the suit neatly before seeing the customer, so there is no need to go out to find a dry cleaner. The hot water in the bathroom area comes out quickly and the water pressure is stable. Being busy until late at night and taking a hot shower, the whole person instantly relaxes.

It takes only ten minutes to walk to the subway station, and you can take the subway directly to attractions such as the Forbidden City and the Summer Palace, without getting stuck in the rush hour traffic. Turn around and you'll find an old-fashioned food street. After finishing work at night, you can go out and enjoy authentic old Beijing copper pots without having to travel long distances to find restaurants.
